Hanoi bus fares to rise up to 80% from 2013

  The Hanoi People’s Committee has decided to increase bus fares by up to 80% from 2013, instead of October, as previously proposed by the capital’s bus company.

  Under the forthcoming increase, single bus ticket fares for routes less than 25 kilometers will cost 5,000 dong (US$ 0.24), 25-30 kilometers routes will cost 6,000 dong (US$ 0,29) and routes longer than 30 kilometers will cost 7,000 dong.

  Commuters will also have to pay 90,000 dong (US$ 4.29) and 140,000 dong (US$ 6.67) for one-route and all-route monthly passes respectively.
