Occupancy up for Danang hotels

  The Danang hotel industry is looking up in terms of number of rooms available and occupancy rates.

  In the second quarter, the number of rooms increased by 7% from the first quarter to 3,100 rooms at 29 hotels and resorts. Besides, the average room rent by 14% to VND2.06 million/one night (around US$99.5), according to a survey by property consultancy Savills Viet Nam.

  In the time, Danang city welcomed 736,000 arrivals, an increase of 24% from the previous quarter. However, foreign tourists decreased by a whopping 30% with 146,000 arrivals, while domestic tourist numbers were up by more than half.

  In 2012, there are six new hotels are expected to open with around 900 rooms.
